Overview

Japan Youth Summit, organized by the Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) Foundation, is an international innovation competition and youth summit that aims to inspire emerging leaders to push the limits of their potential, come together, and implement strategies under the main theme of “Pioneering Innovation for Sustainable Futures.” The summit promotes collaboration among diverse young people from various fields to harness their leadership skills in working toward achieving sustainable development goals. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of goals that serve as a guide for countries worldwide in their development effort, replacing the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that concluded in 2015. The SDGs encompass a range of areas, including Education (SDG 4), Economy (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), as well as Climate Action (SDG 13).

Japan Youth Summit 2025 will be held four days from October 26 - 29, 2025. The program will consist of International Innovation Competition, International Youth Summit, Leadership Training, Intercultural Exploration, Culture and Awards Night, Global Network, etc.

The Japan Youth Summit is orchestrated with the following paramount objectives: Empower young leaders to enhance their leadership skills and contribute actively to societal progress. Foster youth Innovation to address current and future challenges. Promote sustainable futures and propose solutions for global issues. Facilitate cross-sectoral collaboration among youths from diverse backgrounds and nations. Build a strong alumni network to ensure the continuity and success of the Japan Youth Summit in the years to come.

The Japan Youth Summit extends both Fully Funded and Self-Funded Opportunities. To qualify for Full Funding, delegates must complete all registration steps and fulfill payment by the specified deadline. If not selected for Full Funding, delegates can still participate through a self-funded scheme.

All of the participants can have an opportunity to get a fully funded program. The committee will assess participants’ profile, application form, essay, plus interview. Show the best version of yourself and grab this golden chance!

Participants only need to prepare an essay. For the rules of writing the essay, all the details can be found in these guidelines.

All programs at Japan Youth Summit will be conducted in English. Therefore, participants are advised to have a good understanding of English, but fluency is not required.

Participants will receive email confirmation from Youth Break the Boundaries when the application and payment is submitted successfully.

The eligibility criteria is 15 - 40 years old, open for any educational and nationality background, never involved in criminal issues.
